The idea
A group of Vancouver teachers has come forward with an exciting idea to mobilize the voice of teachers and their supporters across this city. The plan is for VTF teachers from all schools in the District to join together to express our collective outrage at the devaluing of teachers and public education through street corner rallies and mark-ins.

Get the message out
Please circulate the information to staff members as widely as possible.
Person-to-person conversations may spread the message best
Email group lists (non-employer)
Copies in letter boxes
VESTA meetings
Include parents to support us – contact PACs

Mark your calendars
Weekly street corner protest. Check out the website www.righttopubliceducation.com for details
Teacher mark-in and leafleting. Plans are for one or more malls, from 4-5:30pm on Thursday, May 24. Stay tuned for details.

Bike to Work is all about you and your teams. Your participation saved our region over 72 tonnes of carbon emissions in 2011, and added up to over 348,000 kms cycled. Impressive! And in 2012 we’re issuing a challenge to beat those numbers by 15%!

Please join us in surpassing our record from last year. Registration is now open.
