National Aboriginal Awareness Week 2012 May 21-25
Goals:
To identify First Nations teachers including roles/utilization.
To review and promote First Nations curriculum resources.
To examine all definitions/job descriptions pertaining to First Nations teachers (language, roles, expectations).
To promote Professional Development in First Nations Education/Curriculum.
To review criteria for the placement of First Nations Resource Teachers (FNRT).
To discuss roles and responsibilities of FNSSW and allocation process. To examine work of First Nations Steering Committee.
To review Collective Agreement as it pertains to First Nations Resource Teachers.
To promote and support Employment Equity.
To create a data base of First Nations teachers within the VSB.
