Poverty in BC – Teachers Taking Action and Making a Difference
BC has the highest child poverty rate in Canada and 20 percent of all our children are living in poverty. These rates are higher for Aboriginal and immigrant children. If you are concerned about the poverty that exists in our schools, city and province attend Surrey Teachers’ Annual Convention (organized by STA and VESTA Anti-Poverty Committees) to find out ways you can take action and make a difference.
